Nathan’s background in research is evident as he integrates into our teams, asking really great questions and immersing himself fully in our culture. You might find him at one moment helping a member to create a PowerPoint presentation and then, later, learning the ropes of our lunch service from another. It’s been a pleasure to watch him engage with members and staff in the work and the camaraderie of our workdays.

He is clearly passionate about his work, and generous in sharing his considerable knowledge.  As an undergraduate, he mentored and tutored underprivileged students and college students beginning their own research projects.  He also volunteered at a community clinic, where he helped facilitate the delivery of free health care to patients in need.

It’s a win-win for us when we have the opportunity to share our program with one so aligned with our values. We’d like to think that Nathan’s experience with us will have a lasting impact on him, providing a greater understanding of recovery from a non-clinical perspective. In our short time of knowing him, he has demonstrated a true appreciation and innate understanding of the importance of meaningful work in mental health recovery. We think Nathan will go on to do great things!
