Our employment partners bring career opportunities to Academy members.
The Academy partners with local businesses to fill entry-level positions with qualified, trained personnel. Thanks to Academy services, our members are prepared for the workplace and provided with ongoing support to ensure their success. The Academy offers two distinct types of employment partnerships: Transitional Employment and Supported Employment.

Transitional Employment
Transitional Employment is a great opportunity for businesses to fill entry-level positions. Here are some reasons why we call it a win-win relationship:
- Reduced training costs. Our placement managers learn the job in advance and then serve as trainers for our members.
- Quality performance. Academy members are held to the same high expectations as other employees. Our placement managers provide on-the-job support until members master job duties.
- Guaranteed job coverage. Academy placement managers provide job coverage when a member cannot work his/her shift, at no cost to the employer. (Our placement managers are covered by the Academy’s workers’ compensation policy.)
- No employee benefits costs. Employment positions are part-time jobs that are paid on an hourly basis with no benefits required. Full-time positions can be divided into 2 or 3 part-time jobs.

Supported Employment
Our Supported Employment program offers area businesses long-term employment options for Academy members, including both part-time and full-time. Academy members who enter our Supported Employment program are well-equipped for the workplace and have typically completed a prior Transitional Employment placement. Businesses are provided with ongoing, customized supports to ensure the on-the-job success of our Academy members.
